The kids are alright!

The Spaces for People consultation in Dumfries and Galloway has now been open for a month, and we’d like to hear from more young people! Only 5% of respondents so far have been in the 16-24 category, so please share if you can. We’d also like to hear from more people over 75, and those with mobility issues, visual/hearing impairments and chronic conditions.

Top proposed solutions by town

Here’s what people across the area have been suggesting so far..

Castle Douglas: Speed reduction measures, segregated cycle lanes, widen pavements

Dumfries: Widen pavements, segregated cycle lanes, cut back foliage

Kirkcudbright: Speed reduction measures, remove pavement obstructions, add crossings

Langholm: Widen pavements, speed reduction measures, add signage

Lockerbie: Speed reduction measures, widened pavements, add signage

Moffat: Widen pavements, restrict parking, add crossings

Newton Stewart : Widen pavements, marked waiting areas outside shops

Stranraer: Widen pavements, close street to vehicles, add signage

Thornhill: Enforce parking restrictions, widen pavement, segregated cycle lane

If you live in one of these towns and are in agreement with these suggestions, just visit the map and click ‘agree’ to show your support. It will be open until 21st August.
